The use of the computer in the health sciences area is constantly increasing; medical students must see the use of the computer as a tool to simplify their work and open their perspectives of information.

Objectives: Find out the frequence of it and its relation with other factors that could be associated to the use or not of use the computer.

Design: A cross study with random sample was undertaken.

Population: First year medical students at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
